Thanks for volunteering to coordinate a TYJP event!
What follows are some guidelines for publicizing the event.
If you have any questions whatsoever, please DO NOT hesitate to contact tyjp@nc.rr.com.
- If you are unable to coordinate/attend the event, please let one of TYJP Board know ASAP. Someone else can most likely coordinate the event. If this is the case, please make every effort to return phone messages from TYJP members who have called for information/directions.
- If you are planning to coordinate an event, an e-mail should be sent out to tyjp@nc.rr.com at least two weeks prior to your event, in order for the event to be listed in the TYJP Event Newsletter e-mail.
- Your posting must be sent from the e-mail address at which you also receive messages from TYJP. If you send your posting from a different account, it will bounce back to you. This message will then be posted by the list moderators.
- Since all TYJP Event Newsletters are archived to “The Mail Archive”, do not include personal information you do not want generally available on the internet. “The Mail Archive” has no mechanism to delete archived messages. Please note that “The Mail Archive” does protect email addresses; therefore, you can feel comfortable including your email address in the write-up.
- Please include the following information in your e-mail
- a description of the event which makes it sound fun!
- day & time
- location
- directions to the event from Chapel Hill, Durham and Raleigh
- your e-mail address and/or phone number for questions or RSVPs
- a note to those who haven’t attended an event before to look for the balloon (see #5 below)
- any other information you feel is important
- In order to identify the group, we indicate that new members can spot the group in public places by looking for someone at the event who has a balloon (or other identifiable item). So, please buy a balloon (helium or otherwise), blow it up and bring it to the event.
- Please try to be on-time to your event. If you unable to arrive on-time, it is your responsibility to find someone who can arrive at the beginning of the event and look out for members. This is very important as new people often arrive on time. If they don’t see anyone standing around with a balloon, they will leave.
Thanks!
